Ken Swinson's Closing Reception
Ken is a self-taught artist from rural Kentucky, whose work includes painting, printmaking, animation and ipad art. He considers himself to be a 'lifetime learner' and he uses art as the vehicle to explore and learn more about the world around him. Much of his work reflect his optimistic views on rural folk culture, river life and simple pleasures. Ken’s closing reception will include a zine making workshop.

3rd Annual East Kentucky Double All-Day Singing
Join us in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains for our 3rd annual East Kentucky Double All-Day Singing! This full weekend includes singing Saturday from the Sacred Harp (1991) with dinner on the grounds of the Calvary Campus, and Sunday from Sacred Selections (a 7-shape mountain gospel book) with dinner on the grounds of the historic Hemphill Community Center.
And while you're here, enjoy local opportunities to experience live old time and bluegrass music, traditional mountain dancing, more home-cooked food than you can imagine, and an Old Regular Baptist communion service with lined-out hymnody. (Full weekend schedule and housing and travel info below.)

Farmer’s Market (5-8 PM) along with a FREE community meal at CANE Kitchen at 5 PM and the Whitesburg Levitt Amp Concert Series at 6 PM.
High Tunnel Management and Production Systems
This workshop will cover some of the basics of high tunnel production and management. Dr. Rachel Rudolph, Kentucky's State Fruit and Vegetable Extension Specialist, will be presenting along with staff from Grow Appalachia.
Topics that will be covered include soil health considerations, controlling the climate, crop timing, and efficient production methods for high tunnel crops.
There is no cost for this workshop, and a meal will be provided beforehand so to RSVP by marking "Going" to this event.
This event is made possible by funding from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund.
